Born Oludemilade Martin Alejo on January 29, 1993 at Festac Town Lagos (Nigeria) to a Yoruba Muslim father and an Igbo Catholic mother, YCee studied marine biology at the University of Lagos, Nigeria before defeering to focus solely on his music carreer.
2015 was the breakout year for YCee with the release of his smash hit single "Jagaban", which featured industry heavyweight Olamide. He picked up the Headies Rookie of the Year Award in 2015. "Omo Alhaji" followed in early 2016, a single which further consolidated his position in the music industry. His debut body of work "The First Wave EP" came in 2017 and was released under the licensing of Sony Music Africa. This project birthed YCee's biggest song yet, "Juice", which featured Maleek Berry.
This hot trail on chart topping singles earned him various award nominations at the Soundcity MVP Awards, Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA) or MTV Base Mamas. He also picked the award for Best Artist in African Hip Hop and the Afrima (All Africa Music Awards) 2017.
Asides enjoying success on the music front, YCee has also pushed his brand to the cooperate world and the business side of entertainment, working with multinational companies like Hennessy, Samsson Group, Budweiser and other Nigerian brands as well.
