Songs by Mar Malade feel like a holiday set to music. What began as a small everyday escape between two friends has grown into a vibrant project: Mar Malade – made up of Alexander Hauer and Michèl M. Almeida – have since released three albums full of summer.
Now, for the fourth time, the duo are laying out their “towels” and heading out on their “Tourist” tour in October 2026. Joined by their multi-instrumental live band, Mar Malade present music that is at times energetic, at times playful and dancing, at times nostalgic – all delivered with an irrepressible joy for performing. The kind you were usually only allowed to indulge in at your grandmother’s house. And she, of course, is the one who cooks up that sticky-sweet marmalade.
In between songs, there’s room for delightfully curious moments: the drummer reads from the local newspaper – and even shares the horoscope for all Capricorns in the audience. Alexander leads the crowd in the hiking classic “Hejo, spann den Wagen an,” while Michèl wanders across the stage in Helge Schneider-esque pantomime.
Each night on a Mar Malade tour becomes its own warmly held space – filled with music, joy, and shared moments.
