Nerlov is like that. Abrupt and sincere. As fatalistic and cynical (realistic?) about himself as about the decaying world around him. All portrayed with a pen dipped in bile that becomes beautiful precisely because it never tries to be pretty. A bit like Philippe Katerine getting depressed at Kompromat. Or Booba replacing Elli with Jacno.
As you'll have gathered, it's not easy to pigeonhole Florent Vincelot aka Nerlov. A bit pop, a bit electro, a bit chanson. And nothing really. In other lives, the thirty-year-old even started out in a metal band, played drums in Sheraf (garage psychedelia), bass in San Carol (pop), sang with rappers (Rezinsky) or dub warriors (Zenzile), and for several years led his first electro-cold-wave project essentially in English under the name VedeTT. Then one fine day, Nerlov felt the need to express his disillusionment in his own language.
