British rock and indie icons Razorlight are heading out on tour to celebrate 20 years since the release of their second hit album, Razorlight. The record went five-times platinum, reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart, gave the band a UK No. 1 single and propelled the four-piece around frontman Johnny Borrell into the mainstream.
On the tour, the four classic members of Razorlight will perform the album in full, including defining classics such as “In The Morning”, “Before I Fall To Pieces” and “I Can’t Stop This Feeling I’ve Got”, as well as deep cuts including “Hold On”, “Who Needs Love” and “Kirby’s House”.
Looking back on the period in which Razorlight was written, Borrell recalls: “The album itself started to sound like a greatest hits album. That’s when you know you’re onto something.”
He adds: “Andy and I had found this songwriting groove, this incredible musical connection. When that happens, it’s like falling in love; it’s a kind of mutual intoxication, and we just couldn’t stop writing.”
Following the success of Razorlight, the band maintained their momentum with the platinum-selling album Slipway Fires, which featured the hit single “Wire To Wire”, reaching No. 3 in both Germany and Austria.
