After quickly building up a strong local following they were offered a support slot on two UK tours with the Angelic Upstarts which won the band highly favourable press reviews and garnered them a national following.
Following the bands early tours with the Upstarts they began embarking on their own UK tours, then moving on to Europe and the rest of the world.
Throughout the past 38 years The Toy Dolls have built up one of the strongest, most loyal, fan bases known to a punk band on this level.
The bands first album “DIG THAT GROOVE BABY” (recorded in 1983) is recognized as one of the best punk albums of all time, along with their seventh album of 1993, “ABSURD DITTIES”.
Including live albums and compilations The Toy Dolls have released over 50 CDs! 2015 also saw the release of “OLGACOUSTIC”, Olga’s solo acoustic album.
But this is no ordinary punk band! With song titles like “Dig That Groove Baby”, “Cloughy Is A Bootboy” and “My Girlfriends Dad’s A Vicar”, a stage show packed with synchronized jumps and dances, choreography, spinning guitars, and highly addictive melodies, this is escapism at its best!
