Doors: 19h00 It was a long, unexpected and journey with many detours that led Jonathan Roy to "Life Distortions". His debut album "What I've Become" was released in 2009, soon followed by "Found My Way" in 2010 and the first French language album "La Route" in 2011. After three albums, Jonathan signed with Corey Hart's Siena Records for his 2017 album "Mr. Optimist Blues", which topped the charts in Canada with the rousing single "Daniella Denmark". Although Jonathan was grateful for the success, he longed for a less polished sound. In a spontaneous fit of inspiration, he shot a series of videos featuring stripped-down versions of new songs, including "Keeping Me Alive". The music went viral and the Canadian now has over 400,000 YouTube subscribers and over 50 million streams, on Spotify alone. With the same commitment to unadulterated authenticity as on 2021's "My Lullaby", the musician who grew up between Colorado and Montreal has further refined his unique sound on the album "Life Distortions". The strong hooks and melodies that made his music so popular in the early years of his career are still present, but the sonic terrain of the album is closer to the musician than anything he has done before. Emblematic of the fresh, new sound is the single "Stay in Bed and F*** (While the World Burns)", a classic Motown song with a modern R'n'B backbeat that highlights his soul vocals. Other Shows |
