Murdo Mitchell's career is a testament to years of hard work, determination and talent. His musical journey began at the age of 11, with his father's punk albums and his first guitar and amplifier. He bought this at the famous Barras Market for £75. After teaching himself three chords, Murdo roamed the streets of Glasgow playing ‘Use Somebody’ by Kings of Leon for three hours, collecting £50 (he even shared £20 with his sister). This triumph ignited Mitchell's passion for performing and led to support slots for friends, notably Dylan John Thomas, and the realisation of a dream by joining Glen Hansard on the UK leg of his European tour. To improve his music, Mitchell rented a studio in London and met with some of the UK's best artists to soak up experiences and incorporate these observations into his art. |
