Schur

At the age of eight, Schur already knew that music would define his life and that he would become the next Jimmy Page. The trigger was when someone in his class mentioned Led Zeppelin and he had no idea who or what that was. His father then introduced him to this magical world and played him records from his collection. His musical journey began with a guitar as a Christmas present. Always with his sights set on major milestones, Schur stumbled along the way in various areas, but never let himself be deterred. With youthful naivety, he built studios, booked other bands for local bars and tried to reach an audience on streaming platforms with his own music. He took on every job imaginable to finance and promote his passion.

With his first song, ‘Gullwing Bravad’, he wanted to reach 2 million streams, but ultimately only achieved 1,000 in the target period. Schur could easily have become an author, given how vividly he describes on his website the twists and turns that ultimately led him to discover his musical voice. While he only listened to classic rock in his early days and demonised anything other than real instruments, Schur now combines the energy of indie rock with hip-hop rhythms and a touch of reggae. He no longer shies away from mixing live instrumentation with modern beats. Combined with his narrative lyrics, his curiosity has led him to create a style that cannot be pigeonholed. The American writes his songs all over the world, drawing inspiration from the influences of each location.
